The Story
The Eagle Ford shale region of Texas is one of the fastest-growing oil plays in the world. And to help our client keep pace we saved time — and money — by transporting an existing modular lodge from Nevada to Texas and reassembled it to create the Carrizo Springs Lodge. Once it was installed, we renovated the kitchen, dining room and fitness center to match our rigid standards for quality and comfort. We also purchased 308 new pillow-top mattresses and then added veranda decks, covered walkways and misting fans to increase the comfort and livability of the lodge’s outdoor spaces. Finally, we added native landscaping that included indigenous plants such as palm trees and cacti.
Key Challenges
Long-distance transportation of modular units, followed by torrential 7″ downpours.
The Extra Mile
For self-sufficiency and sustainability, we installed backup generators, dug a new well and added a waste-treatment facility that ultimately generates water for irrigating the grounds.
